About Us

PINOYJEEP

PinoyJeep: Rondalla Kids of Boston was started in March of 2013 in preparation for the 2013 IP Rondalla Tour to the Philippines. The original purpose of PinoyJeep was to share the unique experience of these Filipino-Americans during the 3-week tour with other Filipinos, friends and families in Boston and abroad. For its first year, the blog has focused on personal essays pertaining to the Rondalla and Iskwelahang Pilipino.

The blog changed its name to PinoyJeep: Young Fil-Ams of New England this July of 2014 to widen its scope to the greater New England community.

Mission Statement

At PinoyJeep, our team of bloggers and participating writers engage in what it means to be Filipino. We share our perspectives of heritage through articles and submitted entries, at the same time discussing culture, history, and language. In addition, PinoyJeep strives to interact with Filipino communities based throughout the New England region. Our work includes reporting on local events and affairs, most notably Iskwelahang Pilipino and its Rondalla Ensemble. Finally, we encourage strengthening our relationships with Filipinos back home by community service.
